It’s Rag Week in Galway. This much I know -

  1. Looking at at the age of the youngsters roaming the streets, I feel as old as Oisín just after falling off his horse
  2. Student drinking is pretty much the same as I remember it from my own days 20 years ago – cheap and nasty
  3. What’s the deal with the egg-throwing ? No, seriously. It’s what police brutality was designed for.

P.S. What’s a ginnit ? When I was growing up, it was sort of an affectionate term (as in, slightly more affectionate than gobshite). It’s actually spelled Jennet (as in horse).
