Croagh Patrick on a clear day

Members of the Galway Walking Club enjoy the view from the top of Croagh Patrick in Co. Mayo – the picture was taken on August 31st, 2008. Despite the apparent good weather on the summit, I’m pretty sure we got a soaking on the way up. That’s Clare Island in the background, at the mouth of Clew Bay. Almost four years ago, I was on Clare Island looking over at Croagh Patrick and standing on my tippy-toes to take this picture. Bit more info on Clare Island here.
