Brimstone butterfly

Evolution never ceases to amaze. What looks like a leaf is really a butterfly with a rather cunning disguise. The brimstone butterfly is a yellow-green colour, and is called Buíóg Ruibheach in Irish.

There were plenty of them fluttering about in Clonbur Woods last weekend, and hopefully, we’ll see plenty of them again this weekend during the biodiversity walk next Sunday morning, organized by the Irish Wildlife Trust.
