How did this survive a Saturday night in Eyre Square ?
This is The People Build, built on Saturday in Eyre Square as part of the 2017 Galway International Arts Festival, which runs until Sunday night. Even though it’s just made of cardboard and tape, the building is still probably safer and sturdier than some of the buildings thrown up in the country during the Celtic Tiger years. If they really wanted to give it a Galway flavour, they’d leave it there for a decade, and then apply for retention.
