The Mirror Pavilion installation reminds me a bit of the monolith in the movie 2001. It’s located in the Eglington Canal basin, in the Claddagh.

Given that the sky and the sea change colour constantly in Galway Bay, the contrast between the installation and the  surrounding landscape is different every time you look at it. The downside of the installation is that it requires constant protection, and there is 24 hour protection assigned to it. It’s a reflection (on society) that we could do without. On the plus side, there is at least one part of the Claddagh not carpeted with discarded beer cans and bottles.
