Last Wednesday, I witnessed something I hadn’t seen before. My morning walk brings me through the Claddagh and I’ve often seen otters swimming, feeding and playing between the boat ramp in front of the Claddagh Hall and the end of Nimmo’s Pier. On Wednesday, I watched an otter feeding in the water in fron of the Long Walk. After a while, it disappeared from view and reappeared under a gull (a Common Gull, I think) near the boat ramp, grabbed the bird by the neck and killed it. The video above tells the story.
