Short video showing the crowds of cyclists waiting for the start signal this morning.
In advance of the extension to the M18 motorway opening at the end of this month, there was an opportunity to cycle along it today as part of a charity cycle. Entrants could do a 50 km or 100km loop (the 50 km one nearly finished me off) and there appeared to be cycling clubs from all over the country there. The weather was typically Galway, with a wind-driven horizontal deluge hitting us as we approached finish line back in Gort.
