I’ve been wandering around Rusheen Bay for the last couple of weekends doing a bit of bird-watching. I didn’t get to photograph the bird I was looking for but I did see a few other interesting ones.
Little Egret – spotted through trees near Barna Woods. They are a common sight in the bay.
A kingfisher, at the same location as the Little Egret. I was in an open position, so I couldn’t get close to it. this is the first time I’ve seen a kingfisher in Galway, and only the second time ever in Ireland.
Walking back to my car, I disturbed this fine looking fox. I’ve seen a fox around Rusheen Bay before.
