A tutsan bush (Hypericum androsaemum) in Portumna Forest park backlit in morning sunshine last week. At this time of year, the leaves are turning, and its berries are turning black. Tutsan seems to seed very easily – I am forever finding saplings growing in nooks and crannies in my back garden. The picture below gives a more familiar view of the plant (it’s the same plant, photographed from the sun-facing side).
