I like gardening, which is not the same as being good at it. I like eating too, and I’m better at that. So the sweet spot for me is eating food that I’ve grown myself. Last year, my raspberry plants were laden with fruit throughout August, and kept producing fruit until the end of October. It’s not looking so positive this year – the yield is much smaller. However, the brambles that I had previously tried to suppress at the end of the garden have begun to fruit already, producing big, plump and tasty blackberries. So I’m just going to give up trying to control them, take the credit for their productivity and feast on the results.
