I often wondered who owns the two Galway Hookers that beside the lockgates which link the Canal Basin to the Corrib at the Claddagh. Well, I’m still wondering, but now I know who looks after them. I encountered this lady painting one of them a few weeks ago – she ‘s a friend of the owner of one of the boats.
She wasn’t too keen to be part of the picture, but I kept nagging used my natural charm until she just gave up to persuade her to pose with the boat.
