Wet in Kerry

According to Met Éireann’s monthly statistics, Kerry was the wettest county in Ireland in October. However, the above-average rainfall was mainly due to a one-off event early in the month. Certainly, it was hard to believe the stats last weekend in Killarney. The Galway Walking Club spent the weekend hiking in the mountains around Killarney in sunshine throughout, and it seemed dry underfoot everywhere. And for a walking club used to trudging through bogs in Connemara, it made a nice change.
