An Béal Bocht

Goldfinch in Galway
I put up a feeder in early Spring, and since then, three different pairs of goldfinches fight among themselves on a daily basis for the perches. At least one of the pairs has produced a pair of young who also visit (though they haven’t got the hang of the feeder yet). Despite feeding two generations [and it only takes two days for the birds to empty the feeder], the ungrateful little sods refuse to pose for a picture.
This image was taken with a camera fitted a wide angle lens. Normally, that would be useless for wildlife photography but the camera was located right beside the feeder, and fitted with a remote trigger. This picture was taken while I was inside the house looking out the window (visible in the background just behind the bird).
