Julie has a great set of donkey pictures on Flickr. I grew up on a farm where there were always donkeys and I learned to never turn my back on them – when it comes to sneakily biting people, donkeys have no equal. The donkey above seemed friendly enough – he wandered up to the gate to pose for me, from the other side of a field overlooking Broad Haven at Pollathomish, Co. Mayo. Bigger size here.

Cool, John.
I have my 400D at Advanced Cameras in the UK for conversion as I write. Looking forward it getting back!
Was that taken with your IR camera? I thought it was snow on the hills?
Anyway, great shot!
Hi John,
Nice shot, was it the bad ass of Rahugh that bit you when you were a young fella? This shot reminds me of the ass that used to reside in the school field during the summer when I was a young lad.
Great Blog,
JB
This donkey was far nicer than any of the Rahugh ones !
