Every time I see a building site (or a planning permission notice), I take a picture. Back in the summer of 2005, when I first arrived in Galway city, I noticed the demolition and redevelopment of an old building along the Eglington Canal, just off Dominick Street. The picture below was taken this year, long after the new building has ‘settled into’ its surroundings.
