Since the planning permission for the site pictured above has lapsed, perhaps Westmeath County Council might leave it that way, since it was under water two weeks ago when I took this picture. Has the planning permission been utilised within the allotted time, presumably there would have been another 96 home owners looking for dry land. I took the photo from the Shamrock Lodge hotel carpark, looking south-west – the exact spot is marked by a camera icon [photo] in the Google Map below. As you can see from Google Maps, it is a nice dry field in summer.
