Today was a scorcher of a day, and unfortunately, someone decided to light a fire amidst the bog and woodland overlooking Spiddal and Galway Bay today.
The fire looked to be at the edge of a forestry plantation at the edge of the wind farm currently under construction in the hills between Moycullen and Spiddal. The turbines did not look to be in danger from the fire, but I took these picture in the afternoon, so things may have changed since. As usual, these fires are stupid, dangerous and pointless, but it doesn’t stop people lighting them. There have been dozens of them across the country since the beginning of spring.
