There are a number of male pheasants staking out their territory along the banks of the river Corrib at the moment. Because much of Galway is in lock-down, and the NUIG is closed, the pheasants don’t have to worry too much about running into humans. The pheasant was walking near a footpath when a passerby approached. Despite it’s colourful plumage, it was well able to blend in with the surrounding foliage.
