The drumlins of Clew Bay, Co. Mayo, dusted with snow during Xmas week, 2010. Drumlins are small tear-shaped hills of gravel, caused by a glacier dumping gravel and debris as it moves. Clew Bay is interesting because the drumlins have become islands – caused by the sea flooding the debris field and leaving only the tops of the drumlins poking out of the water.
The blue creates a dramatic geometric design. Very interesting information. I like the little boat nestled in the middle of the photograph.
