Memorial stone at Slea Head on the Dingle Peninsula in Co. Kerry. The Blasket Islands are visible at the horizon. The stone reads :” God bless and thank you. Clare Walls (Colley) lived happily at Slea Head. Born Dublin January 10th 1924, died October 18th 2006. Look at all the love you spread around our world. D J W”.
The only thing I could find about Clare Walls (nee Colley) on Google was a death notice. And yet she made such an impression on her friends that they erected a memorial to her overlooking one of the beautiful spots in Ireland, and along the trail of the Dingle Way.
Out there, beyond the Blasket Islands, lies the mythical Irish land of Tír na nÓg - the land of eternal youth. What better place to spend eternity ?
What an excellent spot to memorialize a loved one.
