Just like last year, Feile an Doilin was a bit of a wash-out in Carraroe on Sunday. I’ll post a slideshow tomorrow.
UPDATE [August 9]. It was a real pity about the rain during the gathering of the boats. The Hookers assembled at Caladh Tadgh and sailed up Greatman’s Bay. Around the corner of the bay lies the Coral Beach and the organizers had planned a bunch of activities there. Alas, when I drove around to the beach, it was full of cars and in many of them , forlorn little faces looked out through the rain-splattered windows.
There is a slideshow of the boats here, and images of the Galway Hookers for sale can be found here.
Ha ha, for a second there I thought the stones and (what looked to me like a) field behind, were covered in snow. And I thought, can they really be having such a bad summer over there? Or is this an archived shot.
Silly me.
