These two images were taken of fishermen at the same spot – the rocks beyond the viewing point near the lifeguard hut (and coffee shops) on Salthill Promenade. The difference is when the photos were taken, and from where. The image above was taken at sunrise – I was standing on the top of the diving board. In the background is the railing of the roadway to Mutton Island. The picture below shows a fisherman at the same spot at sunset – in the background is one of the Aran Islands at the mouth of Galway Bay.
