It will be very cold tomorrow, according to the weather forecast. Wet snow and hailstones have already fallen across the west, though none of it has remained on the ground tonight in Galway (city). More snow flurries predicted tomorrow morning, followed by storm-force winds and heavy rain in the afternoon – a typical January day in Galway.
I’m always fascinated by the ice patterns formed when the water in my flower pots freeze over. we’ve had very few really cold days in Galway so far this winter. We did have a couple of frosty mornings over the Xmas, which is when I took this picture, of a small seedling floating in a water-filled flower tub, and suspended in the ice that had formed overnight.
