The thing about taking night pictures is that it involves quite a bit of hanging around. Luckily, there is a good spot near the Flaggy Shore for hanging about – Linnane’s Lobster Bar and Seafood Restaurant just up the road at New Quay. The afore-mentioned quay is actually the back yard of the restaurant, and much of the seafood on the menu arrives in the back-door [If you sit at the back of the restaurant, you can watch the tide flow in and out of the narrow channel.]
When I was there last week, I couldn’t decide what to have; the clams, crab or mussels. So I had them all. It was a mistake – the seafood platter is huge [it’s probably meant t be ordered for two people] and I couldn’t finish it. It was delicious, though.
There’s only one problem with Linnane’s – I wish it was ten minutes’s walk from my house, instead of the othr side of Galway Bay.
