I haven’t had much spare time this year, but last autumn, I paid a visit to my local garden centre and bought a few bags of daffodil and tulip bulbs. I planted most of them in a few tubs and forgot about them until a few weeks ago. Once the tulips started blooming, splotches of vibrant colour dot the garden, and when the sun comes out, they positively glow with colour.
The picture above has not been manipulated in any way (it is not even cropped). It was backlit by the morning sun and shot close-up with a macro lens, so the striped petals on either side of the central, red petal are slightly out of focus, giving an Impressionist effect.
