After three weeks of mist, drizzle and rain, the sun finally visited Galway. I watched sunrise down at the diving board on Salthill Promenade [short Youtube timelapse of the sunrise here ]- the strong wind was not loud enough to drown out the shrieks of the early morning swimmers getting into the freezing water. I watched the sun set at the Cliffs of Moher in the face of an almighty gale. In between the buffeting and the gales, I climbed Abbey Hill in the Burren and watched rainbows chase rainclouds across Galway Bay.
Happy New Year to you all.
