That’s the problem with flooding. Even if the farmer had saved the hay (or straw) without any rain falling, there’s no way to stop a river bursting its banks and flooding the crop in the shed, as happened here in Mayo last year. Heavy rain is expected on Monday – let’s hope we escape without too much flooding.
