The Banded Demoiselle damselfly (Calopteryx splendens) are simply beautiful. The torso of the male insect (above) is a vivid blue and the wings are incredibly intricate.
While resting, the damselfly would occasionally unfurl its wings, which made for a more pleasing portrait.
