TG4 are celebrating their 20th birthday nearby in the Quad in NUIG tonight. Workers have spent the last week building the marquee there (picture taken early on Friday morning). TG4 – Ireland’s state-funded Irish-language TV station – was launched in 1996 by the then minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht, Michael D Higgins (who is now president, and a former TD for Galway West).
