The Night Watchman

On Saturday night [January 8th], I nearly cried with the cold – a freezing fog and an air temperature of around -6 Celcius made standing around taking photographs a painful experience. When I saw the two spotlights on a building in the Claddagh casting beams of light onto the ice in the Claddagh Basin, I knew it was just a matter of waiting for someone to walk into the path sof the light beams.

Unfortunately, I was nearly frozen to the footpath before someone strolled over to have a look at the ice. I used a very high ISO to achieve a reasonably fast shutter speed (so that the person would not be blurred)

Camera = Canon 7D, lens=Canon 15-85@ 35mm, aperture=f5, speed=1/20, ISO2000, tripod.
