The moon and the stars shining before dawn over Galway Bay last week . The diving board is illuminated by the streetlights (behind my position).
I don’t have a lot of time to spare these days. During this week, there has been a few fantastic sunrises over the west of Ireland – alas, I’ve been stuck on a train so I haven’t had a chance to get any pictures of them. So I try to take any chance I can to get a picture or two. Last week, I left a little bit early for the train one morning – around 6.30am – to give myself about 15 minutes or so to take a couple of snaps.
It was a beautiful wintery morning – it was freezing cold and a half moon illuminated the promenade. The sea was perfectly calm, and the small waves lapping on the shore glittered with the reflection of the moon. I had the place to myself – a small moment of peace before the start of the day. By the time I passed by the same spot on my way home (about 13 hours later), the rain was hammering down along the prom.
