The Galway Walking Club (of which I have been a little-seen member for the last 18 months) are going back to Kerry for the May Bank Holiday for a full weekend of hiking and drinking lemonade. The following day, the wet weather came in and, after some fruitless wandering around the mist-covered top of Mount Eagle near Ventry, we gave up and concentrated on the social aspects of the weekend instead.
Alas, this year, I won’t be able to make it to Kerry – my academic studies of the last two years come to a conclusion around the same time, so I’ll be lucky to find the time to walk the Prom in Salthill over the weekend, let alone the beautiful hills of Kerry. But next year….
