Preparing for hibernation

The adult hedgehog that has continued to visit my back garden all summer is still going strong. As Autumn fades into winter, it will begin hibernation. I live close to the university, so it is likely to build a nest in a nice secluded spot among the large green and woodland spaces there. For now, it will eat all it can, and enjoy the free meals I leave for it (along with snacking on the seeds dropped at the bird feeding station at the back of my house). This footage was taken last night – the hedgehog can be heard crunching on the kitten food that I left out. It visited several times during the night – at 10pm, 1 am and around 4am – it usually makes several visits (and it does seem to be the same animal)
