Aphid takes a stroll

Aphid takes a stroll

I planted Nasturtium seeds in a couple of pots for a couple of reasons. The first is that they produce endless flowers that require little care. The other is that they act as ‘cannon fodder’ in the garden – aphids and caterpillars love them. Since the plant is such a prolific grower, it’s hard for the bugs to completely destroy them. A swarm of aphids have set up home in one of the pots and the aphid pictured above was going for a morning stroll along the edge of a nasturtium leaf when I photographed it (using a macro lens) – it is only a couple of millimeters in length in reality.
