Arthur’s Day

Hmmmm....Guinness
Yes, of course Arthur’s Day is just a piece of clever marketing by a huge corporation, but how does that make it any worse than Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day ? Anyway, it’s no harm to be reminded of the, ahem, medicinal benefits of vitamin G every so often. This picture has nothing to do with Guinness at all [though I was hanging for a pint by the time I was finished taking pictures on that particular night] but the cloud formation does kind of remind me of a Guinness pint head, just after pouring.

  1. I wouldn’t have been a fan of Arthur’s Day at all but I got to like the idea when I realised that the local was selling it for €2.50 a pint last night!

  2. This is a long exposure – probably around 15 seconds. The clouds were moving slowly, which is why they look blurred [the stars above the clouds are sharp]. The clouds look yellow because they are reflecting the light from the streetlights on the Prom.

  3. I could prefer a Arthur’s, Beamish’s or a Murphy’s day to one of the other usual Marketing’s day… it’s more funny and maybe as good for health as eating pumpkins for Halooween’s day !!!
    :-D
… but people in France are too straigth to have such a day !

like very much the three shots as Salthill
