I walked the Sliabh Carran Loop in the Burren on Saturday and got a proper drenching. The rain was teeming down when I took this picture – like the cattle on the next hill, I hunkered down with my back to the rain and waited for it to pass. Behind the cattle, a rainbow marked the edge of the downpour. visible in the background, across the bay, Galway city was bathed in sunshine.
