Very long icicles hang from the underside of the railway bridge on Lough Atalia road in Galway city this morning. The underside of the bridge has drainage holes and the dripping water has caused a line of icicles along the underside of the bridge. All of the icicles lean to the west – reflecting the fact that the cold weather is due to an east wind blowing all the way from Siberia.
It was very dark under the bridge, hence the poor image quality – camera was set to ISO4000.
