Sunrise over the Claddagh Basin

The thing about time-lapse photography is that there can be a lot of just hanging around. I usually bring a few cameras when I’m out and about, so that I can have one taking time-lapses while I’m wandering about taking pictures with the other cameras. But sometimes, I just go out to just take a time-lapse, and then there isn’t much else to do except watch whatever the camera is pointing at. Which, in the case of a sunrise over Galway, is admittedly a beautiful sight. But what would make it better ? A great cup of coffee, that’s what.
Luckily, the spot where I took this sunrise movie is directly in front of a branch of the Gourmet Tart Co. so I associate this time-lapse with a really great cappuccino. Similarly, in Salthill, there are a bunch of coffee shops and at least one of them opens at 7.30 every morning. Don’t go without.
