Nothing has more ‘potential’ energy than a snowball that you’re just dying to throw at someone. I thought better of it on our first (and last walk) of the winter holiday in Connemara last week, to avoid the kinetic energy of being beaten with hiking sticks by whoever I’d hit. There was very little snow on the hills last week (most of what was on the Galway hills was actually hailstones – not much fun to throw). I had hoped to spend this weekend taking landscape pictures in Connemara, but the lockdown put a stop to that.
