Yesterday morning was cold and foggy and therefore ideal for photography. Normally, I’d set off early to minimize the number of cars and people appearing in the images – usually, I’d encounter a few revellers staggering home after a heavy night. Not this year – there was hardly a soul around the city (save a few joggers and other photographers).
As it happened, the weather was much the same exactly ten years ago, and I was doing the very same thing on this weekend a decade ago – though the street shot below was taken on the Saturday night rather than the Sunday morning.


However, the weather this morning ten years ago was quite different, and unlike this morning, I had to navigate my daily commute through wet snow and slippery roads. It’s an ill wind…
