The fields around Maree near Oranmore flood and drain as the tide ebbs and flows. Nearing full tide last month, this herd of cattle make their way home with some well-known Galway city landmarks in the background. From the right, the pink building is part of my former home (the apartment block of Cé na Mara behind the Galway Harbour hotel, overlooking Galway Docks), the large pile of scrap metal in the harbour yard awaiting export can be seen; the crane is part of a NUIG construction project; the spires of St. Nicholas, Galway cathedral as well as the Quad in NUIG are also visible. Just above the left-most cow in the picture are the colourful row of houses of the Long Walk.
