I mentioned last week that the local sparrowhawk would be back looking for food. Later that week (Friday), it made a kill. The birdfeeders had been full of sparrows and goldfinches, though I couldn’t make out what the sparrowhawk had caught. It went very quiet around the feeder for about an hour, but after that, the small birds returned en masse.
