Over 700 hundred people are alive today thanks to this ship and its crew. The LE (Long Éireann) William Butler Yeats rescued that many refugees in the Mediterranean as part of an EU program to prevent migrant drownings. This picture (and video below) was taken on Saturday morning, as the ship returned to Galway Docks, from where the ship was formally commissioned, just over 3 years ago.
