Heading for the high ground

The rain has been relentless for the last couple of weeks, and the rivers are rising, and the fields are beginning to flood. Unusually, the last couple of hikes by the Galway Walking Club have had to be cancelled due to the poor weather conditions. The picture above, of a winter hike by the club, was taken a few years ago in the Maumturks in Connemara. I’d love to be crunching through fresh snow there this Sunday (though it looks like there will be yet more rain instead).
