Wishing for a sunny day in the Lough Inagh valley

The picture shows the Bens (on the left), Lough Inagh and the Maumturks on the right.

The Galway Walking Club was supposed to climb Benbaun (Binn Bhán), the highest of the Twelve Bens, on Sunday, but then storm Imogen and her Orange Alert intervened. The picture above was taken on the May bank holiday weekend last year when a group from the club spent a weekend hiking in the Lough Inagh valley.

The picture below shows the gang on that same weekend, with the Bens in the background. Guess what none of us will be giving up for Lent, which starts tomorrow ?

We stayed in the Lough Inagh Lodge – this is the view from their front garden – and it is a super place to spend a weekend. Can’t wait to go back there. The picture below shows another view of the Lodge – that’s Mweelrea in the background.

Lough Inagh Lodge – the yellow building at the edge of the stand of pine trees.
